The children of St Mary’s contribute to the life of the school through their School Council, which consists of a boy and a girl from each year elected by a ballot to represent everyone’s ideas and views. The Council meets six times per year to discuss such matters as how the school can improve, whether systems should be changed, how funds can be raised and what they should be spent on. The school council members also get involved in interviewing teachers and acting as ambassadors for the school. The school council decides which charities the school will support each year.
The school council is run by Mrs Jill Hannington with the help of children from Year 1 to Year 6.
