A message for the whole school community.
I cannot tell you how excited we all are at St. Mary’s to welcome back all of our children and parents after this latest difficult lockdown.
You have all been amazing!
Children, I say a huge thank you to you for all your hard work, commitment, and resilience during lockdown. You have kept us together by sending in excellent examples of your work and attending live sessions during the period of remote learning. Thank you to each one of you, I am proud of you all and want you to know that the determination you have shown kept us all going whilst we were apart.
Parents, carers, and families, we can never underestimate the role that you have played in nurturing and supporting your children both socially and academically through this last year. Without you, the children at St. Mary’s would not have thrived in the way that they have. I am sure that you have needed great tolerance at times. Overseeing home learning whilst also running a home or working yourselves is a demanding task especially in the face of isolation so we think that you all deserve medals!!
Our church community and outreach workers have I know been a huge support network for so many of you. From delivering food parcels, laptops and play parcels to doorstep wellbeing visits and welcoming families to the yurt, compassion, kindness, and friendship has been at the heart of it all. This partnership with St. Mary’s church, the Baptist church and others embodies the Christian vision of our school in all that it achieves for the families we serve.
Finally, I know you will want to join me in thanking every member of the school team for the dedication and care that they have shown to our children and families throughout this last year. Putting aside their own anxieties, difficulties and feelings during this time, the whole team has worked holistically to ensure that no child is forgotten, and all are supported.
As we all move forward together, I know that whatever the future holds we can emerge stronger as a team with children at the heart of all we do.
